about rachel
My name is Rachel, and I began Ground Cover Yoga to share my philosophy of movement with others. As a lifelong dancer, yoga practitioner, and person whose stretch sessions make me run late, I seek out movement to ground, express and heal. As a teacher (RYT-200), I guide students toward settling into their bodies: balancing in ways they never have, moving with conviction, initiating from the center. There are endless ways to move—let’s find the ones that feel natural, supportive and inspiring to you.
I’m drawn to practice that promotes awareness and feedback: props, hands-on adjustments, slower pacing and form. I go wild for eccentric movement (think: gravitational resistance), and craft transitions that blend yoga, dance and micro movements in fresh ways. For me, moving cuts mental noise and builds core power that propels not just physicality, but clarity and direction in everyday life.
In addition to teaching, I work as a Flexologist at StretchLab and volunteer and perform with Dance for PD, Mark Morris Dance Group’s program for individuals living with Parkinson’s. I have studied dance, performed and choreographed for over 25 years and am always on the lookout for performance opportunities with modern and lyrical jazz choreography.
Ground Cover Yoga donates 2% of profits to Parkinson's research, with the goal of increasing this contribution as we grow.
Reach out—I’d love to connect.
